Sint Maarten National Heritage Foundation & Museum

The St. Maarten National Heritage Foundation and Museum, located in Philipsburg, is a non-profit organization that is financed through donations.

Established on October 4, 1993 as the result of a merger between the St. Maarten National Park Foundation and the St Maarten Museum Foundation. It hosts cultural exhibits and houses a folklore and historical artifacts, including Arawak pottery, period photos and items from HMS Proselyte, the frigate that sank off Fort Amsterdam in 1801.

Their objective is to promote, protect and study every aspect of the history, culture and natural environment of the island St. Maarten and its surroundings.

Truly an exciting place to visit for history buffs.
