The original De Suikertuin, which opened in 2009, became a popular venue for locals to enjoy authentic Dutch breakfasts and lunches. But when Kim d’Hont took over the property in 2017, she decided to give it a brand-new vibe as more of a European bistro than a local breakfast spot. Now they only serve lunch and dinners with a very creative new menu, but no worries you can still enjoy Dutch breakfast-style little silver-dollar pancakes called poffertjes at lunch, and every Saturday they offer a wonderful a la carte brunch menu with endless mimosas! They have also added a cozy new bar with daily happy hour specials where one can have superb cocktails and a great selection of craft beers and tapas. Though the establishment has been upgraded, the warm, welcoming atmosphere of the original haunt has not been lost.
