Heinen Delftware began as a hobby in the early 1970's by its founder Jaap Heinen. After numerous moves to different locations in the Netherlands, the business is now firmly established in Putten where it all began. Inspired by antique Delftware, and Japanese and Chinese Imari porcelain, Jaap Heinen began hand painting his ceramics. The business grew when his son Jorrit Heinen, possessing the same creative talent as his father, also became active as a painter. The skills of the trade has been passed from generation to generation from father to son. The production process is managed from beginning to end. Sacks of clay powder arrive at the factory and the finished products, fully hand-painted, glazed and fired, are sold and admired all over the world.
